The Assam government has issued revised guidelines in view of the declining trend in Covid-19 cases in some districts of the state.
According to a notification issued on Saturday, the government has divided the 33 districts in the state into three categories on the basis of their positivity rates.
The districts of Morigaon, Biswanath and Goalpara, and the Bokakhat subdivision of Golaghat district have been categorised under districts with high positivity rate.
The curfew timings for high positivity districts will be round the clock, said the notification issued by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
There are 20 districts in the moderate positivity category and the curfew timing will be from 2 pm to 5 am.
Ten districts, including Guwahati which falls under Kamrup (Metro) have been grouped as districts showing an improvement in the Covid situation.
The curfew timing in these districts will from 5 pm to 5 am for districts showing improvement.
As per the order, shops, restaurants and government and private offices will remain closed in the high positivity category.
For the districts with moderate positivity and low positivity, shops and offices can stay open till 1 pm and 4 pm, respectively.
Shops selling essential items can operate till 5 pm in the high positivity districts.
According to ASDMA notification, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Nalbari, Baksa, Bajali. Kamrup, Darang, Sonitpur, Nagaon, Hojai, Golaghat and Sarupathar subdivision, Jorhat, Sibasagar, Tinsukia, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Cachar, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong and Dibrugarh are with moderate positivity.
And, districts showing improvement include Kamrup(M), South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Charaideo and Hailakandi.
State health minister Keshab Mahanta said that the standard operating procedure for the Covid fight has been updated.

Now, government employees who have taken one dose of the coronavirus vaccine can resume their duties and those who have taken both doses of vaccine will no longer need to take COVID tests to travel.
