Assam reported 10 more deaths due to Covid19 infection and 336 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday night said the new cases were detected out of 35,580 tests.
Chief minister Sarma said Assam’s overall positivity percentage stood at 0.94% on Sunday.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 87 cases.
Hundreds of patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the disease on Sunday.
The state’s overall recovery rate on Sunday stood at 97.67%.
“Summary of 22/8/2021 – Today’s Total 336; Overall Positivity Percentage (336 cases out of 35,580 test done = 0.94%); Kamrup(M) 87; Death 10; Recovery Rate 97.67%,” chief minister Sarma tweeted.
On Saturday, Assam reported a total of 15 deaths due to Covid19.
The state reported a total of 640 new positive cases.
The state’s overall Covid19 positivity percentage was 0.77%.
The Kamrup Metro district reported 126 cases on Sunday.
Assam’s overall recovery rate stood at 97.64% on Saturday.
On Saturday, a total of 91 health care workers received Covid19 vaccine doses while 555 frontline workers received the vaccine doses.
More than 52 lakh Covid19 vaccine doses were administered across India in the last 24 hours.
India reported 30,948 new Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours.
India’s active caseload stands at 3,53,398, which is the lowest in 152 days.
Active cases constitute 1.09% of total cases, the lowest since March 2020, according to the data shared by the Union health ministry.
