Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has blamed the Left and liberals for the ‘bitterness’ between the Hindus and Muslims of the country.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also took a dig at the Congress for allegedly ‘amplifying’ the ‘bitterness’ between the two religions for vote bank.

“Left and liberals are responsible for bitterness between us (Hindus-Muslims). Congress amplified it for vote bank,” Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

“After independence, left-liberals designed academic curricula of India in a way that produce rebels. They seek ways to eliminate the respect for State from the minds of the people.” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Earlier on Thursday, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had slammed the Left for ‘stereotyping’ his government as ‘communal’.

“I haven’t given the leftist lobby the authority to judge what is and isn’t communal. I shall do whatever it takes for the sake of Indian civilisation,” Sarma had said while speaking at an event.

Sarma said that Veer Savarkar was a great freedom fighter and patriot who rendered immense contribution to the freedom of India.
