The church leader said the present border dispute with neighbouring Assam, Myanmar political crisis and refugees are among the prayer subjects.

Meanwhile, Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga has urged the people to join the state-wide prayer called by the church body.

“The state of Mizoram has tried its best. Our doctors and medical experts are also putting in their best efforts. Although this has helped us to a great extent, the number of Covid19 cases did not subside till date,” he said.

He said, “We should seek forgiveness for our sins and also seek divine intervention so that this pandemic leaves us at the earliest.”

Mizoram on Saturday reported 483 Covid19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 26,690.

At least 120 people have succumbed to the infection so far.

The number of active cases now stands at 5,741 in Mizoram while 20,829 people have recovered from the virus.
