Assam News – Sikkim CM PS Tamang visits Kokrajhar in BTR

Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang accompanied by two of his cabinet ministers – Bedu Singh Pant and Arun Upriti visited Kokrajhar in Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Tuesday. 

Sikkim CM PS Tamang arrived at the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) guest house where he was accorded a warm welcome by BTC chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro and deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary. 

The Sikkim chief minister was in Guwahati on Monday and was supposed to leave for Siliguri, but due to poor weather conditions, he travelled via road and halted in Kokrajhar.  

Speaking to the media, the Sikkim chief minister said that this is his second visit to BTR.  

He said that his government maintains a good relationship with Assam and the BTC government.

Thanking BTC chief Pramod Boro for the warm hospitality, PS Tamang invited the BTC chief to Sikkim to carry forward the good relationship. 

Meanwhile, BTR chief Pramod Boro said it was indeed a pleasure meeting the chief minister of Sikkim Prem ingh Tamang.  

Boro said, “We discussed several important matters during the meet.”  

Pramod Boro added that the BTC government will soon send a team of officials to Sikkim to gather knowledge about organic farming and apply the same in BTR.
