Assam News – ULFA(I) releases abducted ONGC employee Ritul Saikia

The ULFA(I) on Friday released the abducted ONGC employee, Ritul Saikia, from its captivity.

According to reports, Ritul Saikia was released by the outfit Changsa Basti in Nagaland’s Mon district along the India-Myanmar border.

On April 21, 2021, 3 ONGC employees were abducted by ULFA(I) cadres from Romanian work-over rig of ONGC at Lakwa under Sivasagar district.

Earlier, two of three abductees – Mohini Mohan Gogoi and Alakesh Saikia – were rescued by the Indian Army and Nagaland Police during a joint operation at a village in Mon district.

But the joint team could not rescue Ritul Das and he was taken away by ULFA(I) cadres.
