Assam News – Yupia CJM Court grants bail to YouTuber Paras Singh

YouTuber Paras Singh has been granted bail by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Yupia in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Paras Singh has been granted bail, subject to furnishing a personal bond of Rs 10,000. He has also been instructed to not leave the Country. 

“The 21-year-old YouTuber has now been released from judicial custody and will go back to Ludhiana,” said Arunachal Pradesh Director General Police RP Upadhyaya. 

Paras Singh has reportedly been granted bail in relation to the case regisitered based on MLA Ninong Ering’s FIR.

Paras Singh was arrested by the Arunachal Pradesh Police on May 26 in Ludhiana, Punjab and was brought to the State. 

YouTuber Paras Singh stroked a massive controversy by calling Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering ‘Chinese’. 

Apart from calling Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering ‘Chinese’, YouTuber Paras Singh had also questioned the State’s affiliation towards India in a video in his YouTube channel. 

Arunachal Pradesh police after interrogating Paras Singh had informed: “…he made this controversial video on which the case has been registered, to gain widespread attention and views, so that his monetary income could be maximized. His motive was that he became enraged after reading HMLA’s letter about PUBG, as banning PUBG would have meant sure shot loss in income.” 

“Most of his videos are aimed at generating quick money,” SP of Special Investigating Team – Rohit Rajbir Singh had said. 

“On an average accused Paras earns around Rs 20000 to 25000/- per month from his videos,” SP of Special Investigating Team – Rohit Rajbir Singh had said.

In his YouTube video, Paras Singh had questioned Ninong Ering’s nationality saying that the Arunachal Pradesh MLA “doesn’t look like an Indian”. 

Paras Singh also said: “His (Ninong Ering) name does not seem like an Indian name.”   

The YouTuber also questioned Arunachal Pradesh’s affiliation towards India.   

He said: “Arunachal Pradesh is surrounded by China so people here are to large extent Chinese.”
