Khandu says shortage of teachers being addressed

BOMDILA, 9 Jul: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president Tejasvi Surya and Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung attended the final day of a three-day training camp for BJYM members, held at the Upper Gompa here in West Kameng district on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters, Khandu said that the training programme was for the party’s district youth leaders “to inculcate the party discipline and its ideology.”

“This is the first BJYM state level training camp and will also be seen in future, so that the party workers are guided well for a transforming state through grassroots works,” he said.

The trainees were apprised of various programmes

under the central government and the state government, he added.

Responding to questions on the shortage of subject teachers and the need for a regular vice chancellor and teaching staff in the Arunachal University in Pasighat, and on the dilapidated road from Naharlagun to Banderdewa, Khandu said that the matter of shortage of subject teachers, “which is a serious concern in the education sector, is being addressed.”

“Likewise, the need for a regular vice chancellor and teaching staff in the Arunachal University in Pasighat has also been addressed by the state government. Maybe the technical aspects for the recruitment of staff and VC are in process,” he said, adding that the construction of the road from Naharlagun to Banderdewa “is in process, which was delayed due to the recent monsoon rainfall.”

Surya on his part said, “Basically, the rise of the party in the country, its history, and the approach to make further growth in the state was discussed. Also, the development works under the BJP government were imparted to the party workers.” he said.
