A special children’s court Tuesday said that the minor boy booked in the murder case of district-level cricketer Ramesh Pawar will be tried as a child in conflict with law.
The court said that the now 18-year-old got himself involved in the alleged crime due to his association with “bad peers”and was not “criminal minded”.
On June 6, 2019, Pawar was allegedly murdered by two persons along with the minor over a dispute.
The minor had sought to be tried as a child and not as an adult as per the Juvenile Justice Act, which has provisions for children in the age group of 16-18 to be tried as adults in cases of heinous offences.
The court considered the reports submitted by the probation officer on the minor.
