To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Liberation War 1971, the BSF Swarn Jayanti Shaurya Pradarshani Yatra reached Bidya Sagar Bidyapith High School, Balabhut along Indo-Bangla border on Saturday.

The Border Security Force (BSF) in a statement said the motto of this Yatra is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the youths residing in border areas and also to spread awareness about the contribution of BSF & Mukti Bahini in 1971 War.

The Yatra was warmly welcomed by Vipul Parmar, the second officer-in-charge on this occasion.

A large number of villagers including the village member of Balabhut, Ramesh Chandra Barman, were present.

During the programme, short documentaries, photographs on Bangladesh Liberation War 1971 and the role of BSF in raising of Mukti Bahini and also the role of Mukti Bahini in Bangladesh Liberation War 1971 were screened.

Colourful cultural programmes were performed by school children and BSF Jazz Band which mesmerized the audience with full of patriotic fervour.

Besides, physical activities and drawing competition was also organized for school students of nearby bordering areas.

The Yatra further reached Belguri under Agomani police station and later reached Chinmoyee Girls’ High School under Golakganj police station in Dhubri district where the locals participated in large number and appreciated the efforts of BSF, the BSF said in a press release.
