‘Exploring Insights’ - a festschrift in honour of erudite scholar Prof Upendranath Sarma released 2

“Exploring Insights” – a festschrift in honour of Professor Upendranath Sarma, an erudite scholar of remarkable depth and range and former HoD, English in Cotton College – was released at the Guwahati Press Club on Monday. 

The festschrift was edited by Dr Gautam Sarma, former Head of the Department of English at the Cotton University.

The festschrift was released by Professor Gobinda Prasad Sarma, former Head and Dean, Faculty of Arts at the Gauhati University. 

Mitra Phukan, a distinguished writer and columnist, was the Guest of Honor at the event.

Talking about the book, Dr Gautam Sarma said that the book “brings a rich collection of essays on a wide variety of subjects pertaining basically to English writing, written by some of the most eminent scholars of the Northeast and beyond”.

Both Prof Gobinda Prasad Sarma and Mitra Phukan spoke highly about the book and scholastic heights of Prof Upendranath Sarma.  

They applauded the efforts and the exemplary gesture of Dr Gautam Sarma too. Among others, Proffesoor Robin Mohan Goswami, Santanu Phukan, Dr Garima Kalita, Dr Gayatree Goswamee, Dr Ranjita Chaudhary, Dr Mitali Goswami, Dr Pori Hilodari and Parthapratim Phukan also spoke on the occasion.
