Cinotti’s Bakery in Jacksonville Beach have issued an apology after one of its owners posted anti-LGBTQ messages on her social media page during Pride Month.

Among other content, one of Cinotti’s owners shared a meme celebrating Straight Pride Month and praising heterosexual relationships as natural.  This is not the first time they’ve offended customers; nor is it the last business to come under fire for getting involved in today’s culture wars. Tim Gibbons is editor at the Jacksonville Business Journal and joined us for a closer look.

Climate Bank

Duanne Andrade is Chief Financial Officer of the Solar Energy Loan Fund here in Florida, and recently testified before the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee. The topic? How to create a national “climate bank” to rise to the challenge of our time: climate change.  She joined us with more information.

Sarabay

According to the University of North Florida, its archaeology team is now fairly confident they have located the lost indigenous northeast Florida community of Sarabay, a settlement noted in both French and Spanish documents dating back to the 1560s. Dr. Keith Ashley, UNF’s Archaeology Lab Director, joined us with details.

Book Club

If you’re tired of Zoom meetings, and have already binge-watched everything on Netflix, you’re not alone. Fortunately, our First Coast Connect Book Club Facilitator Stacey Goldring joined us with the perfect “cure.”

Patrick Cantin can be reached at [email protected] or on Twitter.
