The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) has demanded appointment of locals in the grade III and IV post at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH).

The AAUA-Lakhimpur unit claimed that Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier promised appointment of locals in grades III and IV posts at the LMCH.

Earlier on Wednesday, the AAUA-Lakhimpur also staged a sit-in demonstration in front of district deputy commissioner’s office in North Lakhimpur to press for their demands.

The AAUA-Lakhimpur demanded appointment of unemployed youths from Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts in grade III and IV, appointment of trained GNM and ANM nurses from these two districts, regularization of temporary posts of ward girls, ward boys and cleaning staff at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital.
