In yet another gruesome incident in Guwahati, a watchman of a shopping complex was found murdered at the Maligaon area in the city on Friday.
The watchman has been identified as Tarun Deka and he hailed from Mangaldai in Darrang district.
The incident, which took place at Bipul Shopping Complex in Maligaon in the city, was caught on the CC TV camera.
Sources said he was employed at the shopping complex for the last few months and was alone in the night when the incident took place.
In the CCTV footage, a man is seen pushing the watchman into a shop and beating him up with a wooden stick.
The watchman was killed barely 500 metres away from the Jalukbari police station.
Police suspect that the murder took place around 11:30 pm.
Police have recovered the wooden stick from the spot.
Earlier on October 26, an elderly couple was found dead in their house in the Beltola Chandanagar area of the city.
Nani Gopal Barua (86), a retired engineer, and his wife Mina Barua (80) were found murdered in their bedroom.
